I liked this dress so much, I bought it in powder blue, too! It was super affordable and it’s going to get lots of wear this fall. I’m totally going to pair it with a peep-toe bootie or my grey OTK boots – the options are endless.

Cincygram: Style + Sustainability Gala

Since moving to the ‘Nati, I’ve loved making this city my home. Moving to a new city means discovering new favorites whether that be coffee shops, restaurants, local bars or boutique shops. Thankfully, Cincy has no shortage of any of those things.

I was so lucky to find a group of amazing blogger bffs in the ladies of Thread Cincinnati. As a group, we’re always looking for new trends, shops and events for the latest and greatest. On Saturday (October 1), we’re attending the Style + Sustainability Gala.

One Dress, Two Ways: Wear it Later

I’m back today to share how I’m going to style this pretty little dress for fall. Seems fitting since today is officially the first day of Fall. PSL, anyone? Brights totally work for cooler weather, but I tend to add darker accessories in order to make them more seasonally appropriate.

Since yesterday I showed you how I styled this pretty LYD for a summer wedding or event, today, we’re fast forwarding to fall:

Dress: SheIn // Vest: Sears (last year, similar here) // Sunnies: Ray-Ban // Heels: Steve Madden (last year, similar) // Bag: Dooney & Bourke (old, similar here)

I got this faux leather vest last year and it’s right on trend for this year, too. I styled this dress for a dressier occasion, but it would also look super cute dressed down with black booties.

One Dress, Two Ways: Wear It Now

It’s still warm here in the Midwest, but fall is right around the corner, so I’ve started thinking about how to style some of my summer favorites in fall, too. Today, I’m sharing how I would style this LYD (little yellow dress) for a summer wedding or event, and tomorrow I’ll show you how I’m going to wear it when the weather turns cold.

I’m going to be completely honest, I used to think blondes couldn’t wear yellow, but this pretty drop-waist number proved me wrong, cause I love it.

So long, sweet summer

Yikes, that feels pretty final, no? Today, I’m sharing my last look from my trip to Charleston, SC, which is the last of my uber-summery outfits. Cue sad face. Although you’re going to be seeing some transitional looks before you see me PSL in hand.

This off-shoulder top and these shorts probably look familiar, as I’ve styled them both on the blog before.

As long as I’ve been going to IOP, we’re walked this little Secret Garden path to the beach. It’s idyllic, really. I definitely wanted to get some shots here while we were there, and this outfit seemed perfect, as it was one of my favorite favorite looks.

Palm Friday

It’s probably one of the last weekends I’ll be able to wear this outfit until next summer. Let’s be real, it might be too cold already. BUT I couldn’t let summer slip away without sharing this look I wore at the beach.

Tank & Shorts: Old Navy (similar, similar), Wedges: Crown Vintage, Bag: DSW (similar), Earrings: H&M

These tassle earrings are super on-trend, and I love the pop of unexpected color they added to this look.

I told ya’ll this bag had a convertible strap and it’s super versatile, so you can see how I carried it for a day of sightseeing in Charleston here.

Start Wearing Purple, Wearing Purple…

There’s nothing I love more right now than a swingy dress. There’s a TON of versatility in them – I have them in every style from Tshirt, sleeveless to long-sleeved. You can wear them year round – throw a blazer or jacket over it with heels, wear it with booties, throw on some tights – the options are legitimately endless.

Summer Tunic

My mom came across this pretty blue and green tunic while we were browsing at the Charleston City Market during our trip. I loved it so much I tried it on right on the spot and took it home and wore it while on our trip.

dsc_1508

Tunic: Charleston City Market (silimar here, love this off-shoulder version here), Shorts: Old Navy (similar here and under $10!), Wedges & Bag: DSW (similar bag – under $30!), Sunnies: Amazon

Though the weather is indeed turning here (by turning I mean it’s not 90 anymore, trust me, I’m far from rushing into fall!) this pretty tunic is still on rotation (I told ya’ll, I’m holding onto summer!) and will pair just as well with white or ever dark wash denim. Hashtag versatility.

A note on this clutch. It also has a cross-body strap on it making it possibly the most versatile bag I have. It goes with everything! It’s definitely a bag I think you need in your life.

Sullivan’s Island Favorites

Whenever we visit the Charleston, SC area, we pretty much always head over to Sullivan’s Island for dinners, since there aren’t too many places on IOP to have lunch or dinner. It’s only about a 20 minute drive from where we usually stay, so it’s really perfect, and there are SO many places to choose from in such a small main drag area.

dsc_1200

One thing I always love to do at least once while on our neighbor island is check out Ft. Moultrie. Not only does it offer a very long and rich history, but there are also some great views of the Charleston Harbor.

Poe’s Tavern is a serious favorite of mine. They’re really known for their burgers, but I always go for the tacos. Porch sitting with a cold drink and great food – what more could you need?  Edgar Allan Poe was stationed on Sullvian’s when he was in the army, so they named a restaurant after him:

dsc_1237

dsc_1235

I highly recommend getting there for lunch or on a week night if you want a good seat, as it’s self-seating and a seat on the porch is a high commodity.

dsc_1234

dsc_1233

Sullivan’s Restaurant – some of my favorite seafood. It’s right across the street from Poe’s. Plus they have hush puppies… and we all know about y love for #carbz. Sullivan’s is a must-visit for sure. We love it so much we went twice while on our trip.
dsc_1206

dsc_1208

Taco Mamacita is right down the street and I’m going to be bold here.. I think they were the best tacos I’ve ever had in my life. Yep, shots fired.

dsc_1561

dsc_1215

dsc_1219

Those nachos, those tacos, that Mexican street corn. All the foods. SO good. I was with Seth and both sets of our parents and we were all genuinely so thrilled with how our food turned out. I wish we’d been able to go back for a second meal, because I seriously dream about these tacos.

dsc_1222

What are some of your favorites? Have you been to Sullivan’s or any of the afforementioned restaurants?

Cold-Shoulder

It’s been about two weeks since we got back from the beach, and I’m totally still there in my mind. I was alllll about this top while we were there, and it’s been warm enough that I can keep wearing it. That Midwest weather.

dsc_1058

Top: Make Me Chic c/o, Shorts: Gap, Heels: Forever 21 (old – similar), Sunnies: Amazon (similar)

It seems to me that we all tend to rush out at the first sign of fall for our PSLs and are immediately itching for blanket scarves. I love layering as much as the next gal, but I’m trying to stay in the moment this year and continue to wear my favorite summer clothes as long as possible. Best part about a top like this one is that it pairs great with jeans, too so I can continue to wear it a little longer.
